Historically, the Finale area was composed of several smaller comuni, including Finalborgo, Finalmarina, and Finalpia. It wasn't until the Fascist regime in 1927, aiming to create larger municipalities, that these townships were unified into the single Comune of Finale Ligure, forming the urban structure we see today.
